FACTORS WHICH MAKE SALAAT OBLIGATORY

Three factors necessitate Salaat:
1.Islam
2.Maturity
3.Sanity
Children should be commanded to perform Salaat at 7 years of age and punished for neglecting it when they are ten (Ahmed ibn Hambal Musnad 11.180)
